Previous owner rebuilt the engine ~10K miles ago. New 2 wire GM internal alternator, GEN light works. Car has manual disc brakes up front and drum brakes in the rear. Car has an aftermarket floor shifter for the PG trans. I had planned to convert the car to a 4 speed while retaining all original parts. Engine has new 8MM wires, spark plugs, Pertronix ignition and coil, and a new Edelbrock 500 CFM carb with electric choke. Rear quarters have been replaced and the trunk and rockers are solid. But the engine in 1 barrel and 4 barrel versions (Sprint) made it as an option into Tempest and Firebirds from 1966 – 1969.Ĭar has been repainted original Primavera Beige and has Pontiac 15” Rallye II wheels.
It was installed in a Pontiac Banshee, never going to production. This engine was designed by John Delorean for the Javits car show in 1964. Less than 1900 Sprints were made with automatic trans, and this number includes Tempest models.
Health forces sale of my rare 1968 Firebird Sprint.
